If you press f5 your progress will be saved, and if you press f7 it will be loaded. You should now have a fully working emulator – congratulations! Press escape to go full-screen and f2 to pause. Now either double click on one of your games in the main window or press file, open, then find your game in your downloads section. Also, you can use the mouse as an analog stick – when you are pressing the buttons for the analog stick move your mouse in the desired direction. I find this method of control terrible but if your game requires a analog stick this is one way to fix it. If you are using a keyboard the default configuration is quite good so you may want to skip this step. Repeat until all the buttons are configured to your preference. Now press a button on your keyboard/game-pad that you would like to use to emulate the button on the original n64. Click on the button labelled up under the label digital pad. If your controller or keyboard supports rumble then you can select the rumble pak to enable this feature. On the controller pak tab you can select a controller pak. You may want to create a shortcut or pin it to the task bar. This would be a good to to insert a controller if you are using one. A installer will be downloaded – open this. You can download older versions on the same page if you want to although I can’t see why you would want to. Click on the link and download the file (mine was called Project 64 1.6). I have used 1.7 and I honestly can’t tell the difference in the games. Its still a good emulator, but unless you are really desperate for it 1.6 should work fine. You can give them $20 and they will give you a download link but I don’t think it’s worth it, seeing as the complete version was meant to be released in 2010. The latest version, 1.7, is in “beta”, which means it’s still in development. Project 64, a N64 emulatorįirst, visit There are 3 buttons, project 1.7, 1.6, news and forum. Also note that these are the MINIMUM requirements – games like Goldeneye, Conkers Bad Fur Day or Multiplayer Games might need higher requirements. If you want more details you could Google  system requirements. Sorry if thats a bit vague, but seeing as I don’t have a army of old computers to test I can’t be very detailed.

You could Google it I suppose… I would recommend a controller with a analog stick for this emulator as the N64 had one and some games don’t work without it.Īn 800mhz processor (most modern computers and laptops have this, if your computer has an AMD Athlon processor or a Intel Pentium 3 and above you should be fine in this department), it doesn’t use much ram so if you have Windows xp or above its likely you will be fine, and a Nvidia gforce 3/AMD Radeon 8500 or above (net-books, old laptops or very old desktop may not have this).
